Biography
Dr. Stauffer’s interest in the mental health field began taking shape in his late teens/early 20s while he served as a chaplain’s assistant with a prison ministry in Alabama. He completed a 2 year Bible college diploma in Christian Ministries as he began to discern his sense of God’s call to minister to the needs of people. He followed the Lord’s leading which culminated in completing an M.A. in Clinical Counseling and opening a private practice in Columbus, Ohio specializing in helping people individuals and their loved ones in the struggle against sexual addiction. After many years of providing clinical care Dr. Stauffer completed his Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision and pivoted into his work in academia and training new counselors. He holds deeply to the mantra that “if I must err, I would rather err on the side of mercy than the side of judgment, for mercy triumphs over judgment.”
