Dr. Villarreal-Davis has specialized in working with children utilizing play and sandtray therapy. Dr. Villarreal-Davis’ also has specialized in Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) and conducted research using this approach with Hispanic families. Her teaching and research interests include play therapy, sandtray therapy, CPRT, counseling children and adolescents, working with children in foster care, and PTSD/trauma.
