Biography
Dr. Sherie Hawkins has served in her Georgia community for over 25 years as a therapy partner. She obtained a Masters in Professional Counseling (1998) and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision (2014). Sherie is an Associate Professor with Liberty University and has taught Masters level Counseling students since 2013. Sherie values professional association within the counseling profession and contributes to the organizations with attendance, presentation, and service within ACA, ACES, SACES, and EMDRIA. Sherie’s clinical practice has varied regarding clinical focus and lifespan through her years of service. For the past 10 years, she has founded and operated a private practice, Hope Springs Counseling, where she conducts trauma-focused therapy utilizing EMDR as the primary treatment modality and provides clinical supervision to interns and Licensed Associate Counselors. Her private practice has grown to two office locations and one Nature-Based venue where she and her clinicians conduct individual, couples, and group therapy as well as offer additional “whole-person focused” treatment modalities to assist with their clients’ overall well-being.
Sherie has a passion for increasing awareness of the effects of trauma as well as mentoring counselors-in-training and assisting them in discovering their own passions within the profession.
