Biography
Dr. Cindy Palen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arkansas and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Palen earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Regent University. Dr. Palen works in private practice at Oaks Counseling in Springdale, Arkansas where she works with children and adults who present with various mental health concerns. Dr. Palen is certified in EMDR Therapy and addresses treatment through a trauma-informed lens. Dr. Palen serves as a faculty member and a clinical supervisor with the Trauma Counseling Certificate Program and the Child & Adolescent Counseling Certificate Program with the International Institute for Post Graduate Education in Ukraine, an institute accredited by the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine and by the International Registry of Counselor Education Programs (IRCEP). Dr. Palen’s primary clinical and research interests are trauma therapy, crisis and disaster intervention, EMDR, eating disorders, and children and adolescents.
