Biography
David E. Jones, EdD, MPH, LPC (OH), NCC is an Associate Professor of Counseling in the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University. He teaches in the clinical mental health program with a teaching specialization in counseling theories, case conceptualization, and internship.
Dr. Jones is a licensed professional counselor with clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan in diverse settings, including K–12 schools, private practice, hospitals, community agencies, and faith-based contexts. Prior to his career in counselor education, he worked for more than a decade as an epidemiologist in state and pediatric hospital systems. This background continues to inform his interdisciplinary approach to counseling, prevention, and community wellness.
Dr. Jones’s scholarship research interests have spanned mental health epigenetics, case conceptualization, religion and spiritual integration in counseling, counseling ethics, and public health. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, including contributions to the development of the Biblical Wellness (B-Well) model.
