Biography

Dr. Moitinho has many years of ministry and teaching experience as a pastor, counselor, seminary professor, and director of a Christian counseling center. Before joining Liberty University, he served as the Hope for the Heart Chair of Biblical Counseling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. At Liberty University, Dr. Moitinho has served as director of counseling licensure programs and director of clinical training for the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies. He is interested in marriage enrichment, marriage counseling, multicultural counseling, and the integration of Scriptures in counseling. Additionally, Dr. Moitinho has taught as a guest professor in seminaries in Mexico, Cuba, and Spain. Dr. Moitinho and his wife are the authors of the book The Dream Home: How to Create an Intimate Christian Marriage, published in 2020 by Kendall Hunt Publishing Company.
