Biography
Dr. Dana Lynne Kasper is an Associate Professor – Core Counseling Faculty at the Center for Counseling and Family Studies at Liberty University’s School of Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Kasper is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in the states of California, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and is a national certified counselor (NCC). This includes certification as an Advanced Transdisciplinary Infant Family-Early Childhood Mental Health practitioner, acknowledged by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health at the WestEd Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. Dr. Kasper held a prior education faculty appointment as an Associate Professor for the Master of Arts Clinical Counseling program at Point Loma Nazarene University. In addition, she is the founder of multiple private practices across the nation including the Child and Family Counseling Center of Columbus (2012-2018), Kids Counseling of La Jolla (2022-2024), and Kasper Counseling (2024-Present) specializing in treatment of pediatric trauma and sexual abuse.
Dr. Kasper is a psychobiological, attachment, development theorist. Certifications include Neufeld Institute’s Advanced Attachment program, Observed and Experiential Integration, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Play Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. She is the founder and Clinical Supervisor of Reins of Freedom, 501(c)(3) Corporation (2017-Present) whose mission is to provide a trauma-informed, equity[1]centered approach for mental health services through Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Dr. Kasper is a speaker, author, and advocate for developing new leaders in the field of mental health, and she attributes her capacities to Christ.
