Online Doctor of Education Degree Information

  • An education background check is required for all courses beyond EDUC 701.
  • Students in this degree program can complete between three to four optional on-campus intensives. Most intensives are offered in a week-long course format, with a few being offered in a weekend format.

  • Please note that some states may have additional steps and requirements for licensure.
  • An extensive final dissertation project is required.

EdD Program Military Benefits

Are you a service member, veteran, military spouse, or Department of Defense employee? We are proud to support you in your pursuit of online education by offering the following benefits: 

  • Tuition discounts – $275 for graduate and EdS/EdD students (per credit hour)
  • Additional discount for veterans who serve in a civilian capacity as an Emergency Responder (less than $625 per course).
  • 8-week courses, eight different start dates each year, and no set log-in times.

Admission Requirements for Our Online Ed.D. Degree

A regionally or nationally accredited master’s degree with a 3.0 or above GPA is required for admission in good standing. Please visit our Admission Requirements Page for more detailed admissions related information.

  • Proof of English proficiency

*There is no upfront application fee; however, a deferred $50 application fee will be assessed during financial check-in. This fee is waived for qualifying service members, veterans, and military spouses – documentation verifying military status is required.
