Online Intensives

Liberty University Intensives

During your time at Liberty University, you may find yourself attending intensive courses on our beautiful campus in Lynchburg, Va. We are confident that your academic journey will be enhanced by this experience. Intensive courses allow you to engage with Liberty faculty and staff, explore our expanding 7,000-acre campus, and build relationships with your classmates. We are excited for you to get more connected to Flames Nation!

What Are Intensives?

Intensives are traditionally week-long or weekend on-campus classes where students can interact with their peers and professors in a classroom setting.* For students who have chosen to pursue their degree online, some degree tracks require intensive courses, and some tracks offer optional intensive courses. These residential intensives are located on Liberty’s campus and allow students to interact with and learn from professors face to face as they enhance their education through a higher level of engagement.

Most of our students have felt a deeper connection to Liberty University after completing an intensive. While completing coursework, students also have the opportunity to eat at the school’s various quality dining services, visit our state-of-the-art student center and academic buildings, and attend on-campus events.

*Pre-work and post-work may be required in Canvas.

Virtual Intensives

Some of our intensive courses are now offered in an online format, allowing you to meet your degree requirements from the comfort of your home.

These online intensives involve set login times where you can interact live with your professor and classmates. The courses can vary from 1 day a week for the full duration of the semester to all day, every day for 1 full week, depending on the section you choose! This provides you with a unique opportunity to have an interactive experience without the commitment and expense of travel.

Please refer to your Degree Completion Plan Audit for more information about any intensives your program may require.
