Admissions Steps

The 4 A's of Admissions

Throughout the college admissions process, there are many steps to complete, so we have tried to make that process as simple as possible for you.

Our 4 A’s of Admissions are Apply, Accept, ASIST, and Attend. By following the 4 A’s outlined below, you will be set up for success as you navigate the admissions process.

Step 1: Apply 

A. Apply to Liberty University Today!

You can also apply by calling us at (800) 543-5317 to speak to one of our Admissions Counselors, Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (EST).

B. Submit Your Documents

After you apply, submit the following documents to receive your admission decision:

  • 1. Liberty University Admission Essay
  • 2. Official high school transcripts (not required if you have already obtained an associates degree) and
  • 3. College transcripts (if applicable), which can be submitted in the following ways:
    • A. By filling out the Transcript Request Form and sending it to your school (do NOT send this to Liberty University).
      B. By logging into Parchment (or other secured electronic transcript program) and sending them digitally. 
  • Note: GPA's are recalculated (unweighted).
  • 4. Your SAT score (Liberty Code: 5385), ACT score (Liberty Code: 4364), or CLT score. Please note the following: 
    • A. The Writing section of the SAT is not considered for acceptance or Liberty scholarships.
      B. All standardized test scores are super-scored, meaning we will consider your best composite ACT score or your best SAT score based on the Evidence-based Reading & Writing and the Math sections.
      C. Liberty University now offers award-winning Prepworks® ACT and SAT preparation courses with money-back guarantees. 
  • Note: After reviewing your application, additional information or documents may be requested by the admission committee.

C. Claim Your myLU Account

  • Once your application is processed (1-2 business days after applying), go to myLU Sign-in > Claim Account.
           Note: Your myLU account will give you access to the following:
           A. Your official Liberty University email account
           B. Required Math and English Assessments (upon acceptance)
           C. Your ASIST account
           D. Your Student Checklist
    You will need your Liberty University ID number to claim your account.
    Call us at (800) 543-5317 if you experience any difficulty.

D. Submit Your Confirmation Deposit

  • Submit the Confirmation Deposit and secure thousands of dollars in rewards even before being accepted.

Step 2: Accept 

Once you receive your acceptance letter from Liberty:

  • Submit your $250 Confirmation Deposit if you haven't already done so. This deposit secures your award package, so we recommend submitting it as early as possible to receive a higher award amount.
  • Pay online or call us at (800) 543-5317.  

A.   Take Your Assessments

  • Complete your Math and English Assessments. Login to your myLU account > Blackboard > My Access > Courses > Math Assessment and English Assessment. 
  • Both assessments need to be completed in order to register for classes.
    • If your score is above 22 on the first part of the Math Assessment, you will be asked to take part 2.
    • If you have transferred college credit for mathematics or English already, you will not be required to take the respective assessment.

B. Submit Your FAFSA

  • Submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You and a parent or guardian must sign the FAFSA electronically; to do so, both you and your parent/guardian will use the FSA ID that each of you will need to create before starting the FAFSA.  
  • Sign the Master Promissory Note for federal student loans and complete Entrance Counseling. For more information, visit our Financial Aid Office's website

Step 3: ASIST 

Select Campus Housing & Complete Financial Check-In 

Complete Financial Check-In (FCI) through your ASIST account by following these instructions:

  • Sign-in to myLU and find “Financial Check-In” under “Login Shortcuts.”
  • Using ASIST, you will complete the following:
    • Vehicle Registration
    • Select Housing
    • Purchase Flames Cash
    • Review and verify your Summary of Accounts and Financial Aid (scholarships, fees, and tuition costs)
    • Select a payment plan
    • Make your first payment

  • To speak to an admissions counselor, you can use Chat Live or call us at (800) 543-5317.
    For answers regarding Financial Check-In and payment plans, please call our Student Accounts office at (866) 783-0191.

Step 4: Attend 

When you have finished Financial Check-In:


A. Register for Courses
