Graduates of the online Ed.D. in Community Care and Counseling will have a terminal doctorate credential that may provide opportunities to publish academic research and pursue college-level teaching, as well as pursue advanced counselor roles. The Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Supervision is designed to mentor and prepare you to extend the foundation of knowledge on ethical and effective counseling, counselor education, and supervision through research and scholarship. You will impact the field through education and research as you search out leadership positions in clinical settings, higher education, and counseling associations.

This degree is practice-focused with a strictly clinical approach, which requires a clinical master’s degree or clinical prerequisites before beginning your Ph.D. courses. This program is for those who have professional clinical experience and want to start their practice, take a leadership role, or educate the next generation of counselors. The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The Ph.D. is intensive-based and requires a practicum, internship hours, and a dissertation.
