By pursuing your degree at an accredited institution that offers world-class instruction, you can confidently prepare to take the next step in your career.

We don’t just train mental health professionals – we equip compassionate, principled individuals to be Champions for Christ in their communities. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to minister to the whole person – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – allowing you to help people achieve lasting peace and healing.

In this program, you’ll study the ethical and legal responsibilities that shape professional counseling and marriage and family therapy practice. You’ll explore common ethical dilemmas counselors face and learn structured approaches for identifying, evaluating, and resolving them responsibly. Coursework also introduces you to research methods, design, and statistical analysis, helping you understand how scientific inquiry, needs assessment, and program evaluation support evidence-based counseling practice.

You’ll examine a range of counseling and psychotherapy theories, including empirically supported treatment modalities, while learning how to conceptualize client concerns and select appropriate interventions. Emphasis is placed on understanding diversity in client presentations, strengthening cultural self-awareness, and recognizing how personal values, worldview, and spirituality can influence assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Throughout the program, you’ll also explore the role of counseling in addressing social justice issues. This includes studying major ethnic groups, advocacy approaches, and the profession’s responsibility in challenging bias, prejudice, oppression, and discrimination. From a Christian perspective, you’ll consider how faith and spirituality intersect with professional counseling practice in ethical, thoughtful, and client-centered ways.
