See How Easy It Is to Get Started with Liberty University!
At Liberty, we make it easy for you to register and prepare for class in just four easy steps. Everything you need is available online, so you can take care of it on your own or give us a call — we’re here to help every step of the way!
Step 1 – Apply
You did it. You made the big decision to go to school online and change your life for the better. So what’s next?
If you know what you want to study, fill out an application and let’s start getting to know each other.
If you have questions about degree programs or which one is right for you, give us a call – or chat with us about it live. Our admission and advising teams have been doing this for a long time, so we’d love to share with you what we’ve learned.
Not sure what degree you want or what programs Liberty offers? Check out our Academic Programs page for more information about our wide variety of online degree programs!
Step 2 – Get an Admission Decision
Now that we’ve connected and you’ve sent in an application, we need to know a little more about you. Education is important to us, so the more we know about your previous education, the better we can help you.
Below you’ll find information on general requirements for our undergraduate and graduate degrees, but certain programs have their own unique requirements, so be sure to check the individual webpage for your degree or give us a call to make sure you’ve sent in everything you need.
Here are the general Liberty University admission requirements for each program level:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degrees
Master’s Degrees
Postgraduate and Doctoral Degrees
Your time is important, so once we receive all of your admission requirements, we’ll make an acceptance decision within one business day.
Step 3 – Register
If you’ve been accepted, congratulations! Welcome to the Liberty Family! We’re thrilled to have you join us. Now the real fun begins.
It’s time to pick your classes. Take a look at the Degree Completion Plan or your Degree Completion Plan Audit for your program and register through our Registration Tool or give us a call. We’ll talk you through which choices might be best for you and answer any questions you may have.
Apply for Financial Aid
Your degree is an investment in your future and worth everything you put into it. But did you know that nearly 80% of all online students at Liberty receive some sort of financial aid to help them pay for school?
Starting the financial aid process early can help your application process go smoother, so fill out your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as you can. You can complete your FAFSA using your FSA ID username and password and with Liberty’s school code (010392).
You may also be eligible for undergraduate or graduate-specific promotions, so make sure you check these out and take advantage of all the opportunities Liberty offers.
Step 4 – Complete Financial Check-In (FCI)
This is your last step before your new beginning. Completing FCI helps you lock in your courses so you can get the best payment plan available. Once you’ve completed FCI, you’re on your way! We can’t wait to see what you will do with your Liberty degree.
Did You Know…
Important Tips:
- After you submit your FAFSA, it will take 3-5 days to appear on file.
- The sooner you complete Financial Check-In, the more payment plan options available.
- If pursuing a graduate program or above, ask about redeeming a book voucher with your Financial Aid.
Your professor will contact you the week before your classes begin to make sure you have your books and are prepared for your classes. Log in to Canvas and be sure to complete your Course Requirements Checklist on the start date of courses.
