Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and Master of Education (MEd) degrees both offer important training for school leaders, but they have some important differences. An MAT is a great option if you want to work directly in the classroom while an MEd can also help you pursue an education career outside the classroom.
Additionally, an MAT degree – such as our MAT in Middle Grades Education – can help you pursue initial teacher licensure. In contrast, our MEd in Curriculum and Instruction – Middle Grades is a non-licensure program.
While other colleges are increasing their tuition, we have lowered our tuition for our Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Education programs. At $430 per credit hour for full-time enrollment, Liberty University’s MEd online is available at one of the lowest tuition rates for this degree in the country.
