Students can switch to a licensure M.Ed. or MAT program but must meet credit hour and GPA qualifications.

In the M.Ed. Teaching and Learning Gifted Education online program, you will learn foundational principles of education and curriculum as well as specialized knowledge in gifted education. An overview of the teaching-learning process is explored in relation to learning theory, individual differences, motivation, exceptionality, and teaching methodology. Research on human development, data collection and assessment, and application of research in school settings under our M.Ed. Teaching and Learning in Gifted Education will prepare you to teach exceptional students.

Training in recognizing exceptional characteristics in youth is explored in the gifted education cognate, related to models of service delivery, documentation procedures, and legal/ethical issues. Under the M.Ed. Teaching and Learning- Gifted Education online degree program, you will learn about the emotional, academic, and social needs of gifted learners for development of appropriate assessment, curriculum development, and teacher-student interactions. A capstone course will address the current issues in the field of education with classroom implications and case study to transfer to direct classroom application.
