Changing from a Liberty University Online Program to a Residential Program
Switching from an online to a residential program (or vice versa) is called a Liberty University (LU) campus change. To start the process, you must first complete an application to the residential program of your choice with a Resident Admissions Counselor. After completing the application, you will be required to submit any other applicable enrollment documents. Additionally, you must contact an LU Online Academic Advisor to be removed from any registered courses before the transfer will be considered final.
If you are an online student interested in taking residential courses and would still like to stay in your current online program, please contact Academic Advising for more information on this process.
Changing From a Residential Program to an LU Online Program
You will need to contact the Residental Advising Office. Your Professional Advisor will be able to assist you throughout the withdrawal process. You must also contact an LU Online Enrollment Consultant for assistance with the LU Online application process, and you will be required to confirm in writing that you understand that your intended Degree Completion Plan may be affected as a result of switching from your residential program to LU Online.
In addition, if you have lived in Liberty’s on-campus housing, you must ensure that you have made arrangements to remove your items from the room and return any keys to the Office of Residence Life at the close of the semester.
If you are a residential student interested in taking online courses and would like to stay in your current residential program, please contact the Student Advocate Office for more information on this process.
Please note: You will only be considered either a resident or online student during a single semester. Students already attending one program will be able to switch programs after the completion of their current semester. Changing academic programs will also affect cost and financial aid eligibility.
Financial Aid Considerations
Financial aid programs and eligibility vary greatly between online and residential programs.
LU Online to Resident: Adjusting financial aid may take up to four weeks from the date of acceptance. The student must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for each year, if applicable, and complete all resident admission requirements, such as the $250 Enrollment Deposit for undergraduate students.
