To graduate from this program, you must complete EDUC 696, which is an education capstone course. In short, EDUC 696 will challenge you to apply theory learned throughout the program to current issues in the field of education.
Liberty’s graduate School of Education degrees require students to successfully complete 3 “gates” prior to graduation. The gate system is designed as a set of checkpoints to ensure that candidates have completed the necessary requirements to successfully complete the program. The gate system is an important part of maintaining a quality program as required by our licensing and accrediting bodies.
Each of Liberty’s graduate education programs requires a gate process, but the process varies by degree. For example, the gate process for our MEd in Curriculum and Instruction degrees is different from the gate process for our Master of Arts in Teaching degree programs.
Because the MEd is a non-licensure degree, many students find that the gate requirements are fairly simple. You can learn more about Liberty University’s gate requirements online or by calling (800) 424-9596.
