What is Educational Technology?

Educational technology is a specialized study of how to use cutting-edge technologies to build a better classroom from K-12 to the university level. With new digital tools coming to the market every day, education professionals find new ways to leverage these tools to create better learning environments for students at every level.

Teachers use technology to connect with students at the right age and learning level with tailored digital experiences. These tools can help improve learning in the classroom, help students without access to a classroom, and assess processes that make it easier for teachers to know how to help students learn.

Combined with instructional design, teachers and education professionals can build better curriculum and courses that reduce the time needed for mastery, increase comprehension, and increase retention of important information. This discipline is important for schools and invaluable to every other industry that needs to train employees quickly and effectively.
