Your coursework will encompass a strong foundation in biblical studies. You can examine major sections of Scripture through courses on the Pentateuch, Old Testament historical books, Major Prophets, and Minor Prophets. Studies in Old and New Testament backgrounds can help enrich your understanding of the cultural and historical context of God’s Word.

In the New Testament portion of the program, you can explore the life and teachings of Christ and the early Church through courses covering topics such as the Gospels, Acts, Pauline epistles, and general epistles. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage with books like Daniel and Revelation as well as develop skills through classes on the practical teaching and methodical study of Scripture.

To support your development as a scholar, the program includes a course on research and writing for religious disciplines as well as a research capstone. Studying biblical theology can help you see the overarching themes of Scripture as you grow in your ability to apply them to real-life situations.

The biblical counseling specialization covers an introduction to biblical counseling, the theological basis for biblical counseling, and the relationship between biblical counseling and psychology. You can also examine biblical counseling and Christian ethics and explore practical applications through a class on contemporary issues in biblical counseling.
