Gain the tools you’ll need to interpret Scripture so you can confidently explain the Bible in academic or church settings.
Through the Master of Divinity (M.Div.): Biblical Languages degree, you’ll get the core values, knowledge, and skills you need to serve in professional Christian ministry effectively. This degree will prepare you through in-depth study of biblical leadership principles and strategies as well as intensive study of the Scriptures and essential truths of the Christian faith.
Our Biblical Languages cognate will further your understanding of the Bible through the study of common language tools for word studies and in-depth research. You will explore the original Greek and Hebrew texts through language-specific courses. By pursuing the biblical language specialization, you can develop a far deeper understanding of the meaning of the Bible. This understanding will translate into your ability to teach and lead your ministry through the principles of the Word of God.
The program benefits pastors and ministry leaders who seek a firm scriptural foundation for service in Christian ministry. The Rawlings School of Divinity offers over 20 different M.Div. concentrations to choose from. The M.Div. is the basis for most doctoral programs.
The 90-hour degree option provides advanced knowledge of the original languages of Scripture and unique training in the foundations of biblical study and languages. This option is ideal for students who desire additional language training in preparation for ministerial and academic career fields. In addition, students who desire a terminal degree (Ph.D.) in disciplines related to apologetics, biblical studies, church history, and theology would benefit from the additional study of the biblical languages.
