Serve Your Country as a Spiritual Leader with a Master of Divinity in Military Chaplaincy
Our brave men and women in service are in need of leaders to meet their emotional and spiritual needs. Chaplaincy is both a calling and a rewarding ministry. Military chaplains provide spiritual care and emotional support for service members and their families.
Deployments, combat, injuries, PTSD, and emotional disorders that stem from military service can be extremely difficult. Liberty University is committed to combating these troubles by Training Champions for Christ in the area of military chaplaincy.
Military chaplains are commissioned military officers and can serve in either active duty or reserve capacities. Liberty University’s online Master of Divinity (MDiv) in Professional Chaplaincy – Military program can help you be a steward of the Gospel by developing your ministry leadership skills. Through the MDiv in Professional Chaplaincy program, you can learn skills relevant to both formal and informal chaplaincy settings.
*Some exclusions apply. Please refer to our exclusions page for more information.

Why Choose Liberty’s Master of Divinity in Military Chaplaincy Online Program?
Liberty University’s Master of Divinity in Professional Military Chaplaincy degree is offered in a 100% online format so you can meet your educational needs while maintaining your personal responsibilities. The MDiv online in military chaplaincy is designed to help men and women prepare for professional Christian ministry in military, local church, and parachurch settings.
Faculty within the Master of Divinity program are ministry professionals with years of professional experience. Each professor in the program provides a unique insight into the field of military chaplaincy and counseling.
Students who have a completed master’s degree in religion may transfer up to 45 hours into the Master of Divinity program. You will earn your MDiv degree once you’ve met all course requirements for both degrees.
Our military chaplain students will receive assistance in finding the needed endorsement from a religious body recognized by the Department of Defense. Students are encouraged to discuss the process with their chaplain recruiters to determine what needs to be accomplished to become a chaplain candidate.
