Prepare for a career in church and ministry settings through an in-depth study of the historical and theological contexts of the Bible.

Through the Master of Divinity (M.Div.): Biblical Studies degree, you’ll get the core values, knowledge, and skills you need to serve in professional Christian ministry effectively. This degree will prepare you through in-depth study of biblical leadership principles and strategies as well as intensive study of the Scriptures and essential truths of the Christian faith.

Through the Biblical Studies cognate, you’ll learn how to biblically justify the essential truths of evangelical Christianity, apply the principles of biblical interpretation, and analyze the major figures, events, and issues within church history.

Get the training you need to be a subject matter expert when it comes to biblical and extra-biblical sources. Throughout this degree, you will conduct in-depth studies of the books in the Old and New Testament. You will explore the historical setting behind the books, their literary genres and structure, as well as their symbols, parables, and themes. In addition, you will learn how Christian ministry can respond to the ethical challenges of today’s multi-cultural and secular world.

The program benefits pastors and ministry leaders who seek a firm scriptural foundation for service in Christian ministry. The Rawlings School of Divinity offers over 20 different M.Div. concentrations to choose from. The M.Div. is the basis for most doctoral programs.
