Commencement Highlights 2026
This year’s Commencement honored the largest graduating class in Liberty University history, with over 32,000 graduates. LU welcomed the 74th Governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin to deliver the keynote address for the 52nd Commencement Main Ceremony on Friday night in Williams Stadium. Youngkin highlighted graduates’ accomplishments, including more than 6,300 graduating with honors, 4,100 graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 7,129 graduates with military ties. “With over 32,000 graduates, the Class of 2025 is not only the largest in Liberty’s storied history, it’s also one of the most impressive since Jerry Falwell Sr. had a vision and opened the doors of this school more than five decades ago.”
After the ceremony, a show including fireworks and 300 drones lit up the sky. Visit the full article for more highlights, and to watch a recorded video of Commencement.
Support for Every Step
Wherever you are in your time at Liberty University, just beginning, finding your rhythm, or preparing for your final semester, please know that support is always available to you.
College is a season of growth. It stretches your thinking, deepens your faith, and helps you clarify the direction God may be leading you. While graduation is an important milestone, the journey itself holds just as much value. Each class, conversation, and challenge plays a role in shaping who you are becoming.
Along the way, you do not have to carry questions or uncertainties by yourself.
Sometimes that uncertainty shows up when you look at your degree completion plan and realize something doesn’t line up the way you thought it would. You may notice a missing requirement or a course that doesn’t seem to fit into your final semester, and suddenly the graduation date you’ve been working toward feels uncertain. We receive calls every semester from students who feel discouraged and who are afraid they may have fallen behind.
And then we slow it down together.
We walk through your remaining requirements step by step. We explore options. We adjust schedules. What feels overwhelming at first begins to make sense. Confusion turns into clarity. And often, the student who called in worried about postponing graduation leaves the conversation with a renewed plan and the confidence that they are still on track to walk across that stage.
If you ever find yourself in that moment, know this: a setback does not define your story. There is often a path forward, and we are here to help you find it.
There will be times when college feels overwhelming. This is a normal and meaningful part of growth. During those seasons, it is important to remember that you are not alone. Support systems such as Academic Advising are available to assist you, and we are staffed by individuals who genuinely care about your progress and are committed to helping you succeed both academically and spiritually.
It is a privilege to walk alongside you during this chapter. However, your path unfolds, we are here to support you as you continue pursuing excellence and following the calling God has placed on your life.
