Commencement Highlights 2025
This year’s Commencement honored the largest graduating class in Liberty University history, with over 32,000 graduates. LU welcomed the 74th Governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin to deliver the keynote address for the 52nd Commencement Main Ceremony on Friday night in Williams Stadium. Youngkin highlighted graduates’ accomplishments, including more than 6,300 graduating with honors, 4,100 graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and 7,129 graduates with military ties. “With over 32,000 graduates, the Class of 2025 is not only the largest in Liberty’s storied history, it’s also one of the most impressive since Jerry Falwell Sr. had a vision and opened the doors of this school more than five decades ago.”

After the ceremony, a show including fireworks and 300 drones lit up the sky. Visit the full article for more highlights, and to watch a recorded video of Commencement.
Three Generations Walk Liberty’s Graduation Stage Together
Friday morning, the Rochford family accepted their degrees as a family during the Helms School of Government degree ceremony. Kaitlin was the first to enroll at Liberty, arriving on campus as a residential student. Her father and grandfather pursued their advanced degrees through Liberty University Online Programs. “I’m so glad I get to share this with my family,” Kaitlin said. “It’s special because it’s not common for someone to graduate with a parent, let alone a parent and a grandparent.”

Library Services
The Jerry Falwell Library (JFL) is more than a physical building. It is a treasure-trove of over 2.7 million electronic resources that can be accessed whenever and wherever you need them. You can access the library website, library catalog, and electronic resources in approximately 450 multidisciplinary and specialized databases from any internet-enabled device anywhere in the world through a seamless single sign-on system. Additionally, by completing an Interlibrary Loan request, you can request that materials in the JFL’s collection of over 428,000 physical items be mailed to you; you can also request electronic resources from the Center for Research Libraries and digital scans of articles and book chapters or small portions of books even if the JFL does not own those items. If you live near another college or university with a participating library, you can borrow materials from that library through the JFL’s reciprocal borrowing agreements.
You also have access to a wealth of resources to help you navigate the library website and develop your research skills. Research assistance via phone, chat, and email is available any time the library is open. Plus, you can schedule a virtual appointment for in-depth research questions, explore self-paced, interactive modules on all aspects of the research process, view online tutorials and recordings of previous research webinars, attend live-stream webinars during the fall and spring semesters, explore subject-specific research guides, and check out library FAQs.
Once you have located the resources you need through the JFL website, you can organize your sources with RefWorks, a tool the JFL provides to help you easily generate reference lists. After your research project is complete, chat with your professor about sponsoring you to showcase your project during JFL’s annual Research Week event, which provides online and residential undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to enhance their resume, develop research and presentation skills, and win prizes of up to $250. From start to finish, the JFL is here to support you on your research journey!
