Our aviation program offers the unique opportunity to earn a maintenance management degree that’s flexible, affordable, and online. To enroll in this program, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Already possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings
  • Earn a mechanic certification with A&P ratings at an FAA-approved maintenance school in your area while completing Liberty’s online aviation management courses

Please note: 45 credit hours will be awarded for your FAA mechanic certification, so you will only need to take 75 credit hours to finish your degree. As a result, you can complete this program in as little as 2 years.

Bachelor’s in Aviation Maintenance Management Degree Information

Based on FAA requirements, the AVMT courses (45 hours) listed on this degree cannot be offered online and must be taken residentially. You may complete this requirement residentially at Liberty University, or you can complete an FAA mechanic certification with A&P ratings at another institution in your area. If you earn this certification elsewhere or already possess an FAA mechanic certificate with A&P ratings, 45 credit hours of Experience Plus credit may be awarded to meet the AVMT course requirements (45 hours).

Admission Requirements for the Online B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Management Degree Program

Applicants must have a 2.0 or above cumulative GPA for admission in good standing. Please visit our admission requirements page for more detailed admissions-related information. 

All applicants must submit the following:

  • Admission application
  • Application fee*
  • Official college transcripts
  • Unofficial college transcripts may be accepted with a completed official transcript request form**
  • High School Self-Certification form and official high school transcripts within first 12 credit hours
  • AVRD (Aviation Requirement Form)
  • Proof of English proficiency (for applicants whose native language is other than English)

*There is no upfront application fee; however, a deferred $50 application fee will be assessed during Financial Check-In. This fee is waived for qualifying service members, veterans, and military spouses — documentation verifying military status is required.

**An official transcript is needed within 60 days of acceptance or before non-attendance drops for the first set of matriculated classes, whichever comes first.
