Liberty’s 100% online Minor in Evangelism is designed around Billy Graham’s work and instructional approach and can help best prepare you to disciple others in your field. Through the classes in this minor, your foundational knowledge will grow in areas such as the gospel message, the fall of man, and the Great Commission.

Since our relationship with Christ is not dependent on us as individuals, you will explore the importance of sharing the gospel message through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are confident that a Minor in Evangelism can help reinforce the vital role that prayer and walking in the fullness of the Spirit play in the process of reaching the lost.

Liberty University is a proud, Christian university, with a mission to Train Champions for Christ through our residential and online college degree programs. Our classes in evangelism provide an in-depth study of how to lead people to Christ to fulfill the Great Commission. Our desire is that you will develop a deeper understanding of theology to share with those who have yet to hear the saving message of the gospel.

Students interested in a theology degree, such as a Bachelor of Science in Religion online degree, will benefit from Liberty’s Minor in Evangelism. However, an evangelism minor is beneficial regardless of your major, as it will assist you in sharing God’s Word no matter what your vocation.

Pursuing a Minor in Evangelism at Liberty can offer a meaningful way to deepen your understanding of ministry while strengthening your ability to share the gospel with confidence and clarity. Through this program, you can engage with the ministry rationale and hallmark resources developed by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association – tools that have shaped effective outreach for generations. This foundation can help you explore practical methods for communicating biblical truth, discipling others, and serving faithfully in a variety of ministry contexts.

Because this minor is offered completely online, you can remain active in your job, family, and community while working toward your academic goals. The flexible format can make it easier to integrate your studies with the ministry opportunities already around you, giving you space to reflect on what you learn and apply it in real time. As you progress, you can build valuable experience that supports your calling and equips you to share Christ’s message with confidence wherever God places you.

In this minor, you can explore foundational principles that support effective evangelism, including how to clearly communicate the gospel and thoughtfully lead others to Christ. Your studies can introduce you to practical strategies for preparing messages that speak to the needs and questions of non-believers, helping you understand how to share biblical truth in ways that are both relevant and compassionate. Throughout your courses, you can also examine the role of the Holy Spirit in the evangelistic process, learning how to approach ministry with humility, discernment, and a dependence on God’s guidance.

You will also spend time studying how to cultivate and maintain meaningful discipleship relationships with both non-believers and new Christians. This includes exploring how to walk alongside individuals as they wrestle with faith, celebrate spiritual growth, and navigate the challenges of beginning a new life in Christ. By engaging with these themes, the minor is designed to help you think deeply about long-term ministry impact and to consider how evangelism extends beyond a single conversation into ongoing care and Christian mentorship.
