Professional Certifications

Liberty University has approved credit for the following certifications.  Please fax the completed PLA Application and a copy of the certification or exam scores to 434-455-1286.

  • Certified Financial Planner: BUSI 223 = 3 credit hours 
  • Series 7: BUSI 420 = 3 credits 
  • Other exams: BUSI 2XX = 3 credits each (Limited to 12 credits)
  • Financial Literacy:  FNLT 101 = 1 credit

The American Council on Education has recommended college credit for the following training providers.  Please request an official transcript to be sent to Liberty University.

Dantes Subject Standardized Test Scores (DSSTS)

The DSST program provides the opportunity to earn college credit based on what you learned outside of the traditional classroom. Approved by ACE, the DSST program enables you to use knowledge you have acquired to accomplish your educational and professional goals. Prior Learning Assessment is only applicable to undergraduate degree programs. Before applying for PLA, please be aware that it is viewed only as transfer credit and will not be accepted as credit taken through Liberty University. It is not applicable to graduate degree programs. The awarding of credits and the determination of applicability of those credits to degree completion requirements can only be made after official review by a Prior Learning Assessor.
