Master of Laws in International Legal Studies Admission Requirements

All admission requirements must be submitted through the student’s LSAC account. This list reflects what students must submit through LSAC.

  1. Apply online or call (800) 424-9596 to apply to a degree program with an admissions counselor. Additional requirements are submitted through the LSAC account.
  2. Mail all official college transcripts (send as sealed, unopened copies or via a direct electronic transfer system). Admission requires the transcripts to show a regionally or nationally accredited Juris Doctor from a U.S. law school or a first law degree (LL.B. or the equivalent) from a foreign law school with a 3.0 for good standing. Applicants who have earned a master’s degree or at least 12 graduate credits from an accredited institution will be assessed on the basis of the master’s-level degree work.
  3. Admission to this program requires (submitted through the LSAC account):
    • 2 letters of recommendation
    • Personal statement
    • Professional vita/résumé
  4. Applicants whose native language is other than English must submit official scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or an approved alternative assessment. For information on alternative assessments or TOEFL waivers, please call Admissions or view the official International Admissions policy.


Official College Transcript Policy

An acceptable official college transcript must be issued directly from the institution in a sealed envelope with a signature across the back. If you have one in your possession, it must meet the same requirements.
