Communication and the Arts Minors Enhance Your Narrative with a Minor from Liberty’s School of Communication and the Arts

If you want to increase your knowledge in a particular area of personal or career interest, then a minor is a great way to accomplish your goals. Your major will be the main focus of your degree, but this secondary area of study can expand your career options by adding another field of study to your academic endeavors.

The great thing about our minors is that each of the courses is offered 100% online. You will have the flexibility to continue being active in your career, family, church, and community while studying in the comfort of your home or office.

Ranked in the Top 10% of Niche.com’s Best Online Schools in America

What Sets Us Apart?

  • Private Nonprofit University
  • 600+ Online Degrees
  • No Standardized Testing for Admission
  • Transfer in up to 75% of an Undergrad Degree
  • Transfer in up to 50% of a Grad/Doctoral Degree

Your minor does not have to be related to your degree, but a related degree and minor may have some overlapping courses – meaning you may not have to take as many extra classes to earn your minor. Numerous degrees also have room for free electives, which your minor can count toward. Some minors, like journalism, pair well with any degree.

Currently, our Minor in Journalism is the only communication minor offered. It includes a series of online courses that can enhance your critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills while teaching you current journalistic standards and industry practices. Furthermore, you can gain insight into how the future of writing is changing and how to communicate in the digital age.

The skills you gain in this journalism minor can easily transfer into other areas. Whether you are writing scientific journals or creating blog posts as a social media editor, this minor can help you gain valuable skills that pair well with a variety of degrees.
