You can also build a strong background in family sciences, studying the history of family life, the impact of cultural trends, and the factors that influence modern households.
Your studies can enable you to connect directly with family dynamics and support systems. You can examine how families make decisions, how to address behavioral challenges, and how ethical and legal concerns affect the ways professionals serve children, parents, and communities. These courses can help you understand the balance between theory and practice, preparing you to analyze complex family situations and apply strategies that foster growth and stability.
You will also have the chance to focus on specialized topics within marriage and family. Elective options enable you to tailor your studies to your personal interests, whether that involves examining parenting issues, strengthening marital relationships, or addressing the crises that many families face. You’ll also complete a culminating capstone course, designed to tie everything together and allow you to explore how to apply what you’ve studied to practical, real-world challenges. Alongside these major requirements, you can choose from a wide range of general electives, allowing you to broaden your skills and shape your degree to fit your career goals.
