Program Format Definitions

Liberty University programs of study are offered in two formats. Below are explanations of each type of format.

Programs offered in the online delivery format contain courses delivered through a virtual classroom experience that is flexible, personal and challenging for students.  Through the online format a student can complete a program entirely online. There are some exceptions in which a portion of an online course is required to be completed on campus through an intensive. Programs that contain this exception are marked with an asterisk (*).

For information on Liberty's online programs visit the Online Programs page.

Programs offered in the Intensive-based format contain at least half of the courses or more in the intensive delivery format. The program cannot be completed entirely online.

Programs offered in the residential delivery format contain courses delivered on campus [face-to-face] and generally last the length of a standard semester.
