Course Requirements Checklist

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.

Discussion: Class Brainstorming

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will share 2 best AI-generated topic ideas, explain how prompts were designed, evaluate AI responses for creativity and relevance, respond thoughtfully to at least 2 classmates’ posts, and reflect on how AI collaboration and peer interaction influenced their ideas while maintaining originality, ethical awareness, and a Christ-centered perspective.

Peer-Review Discussion: Co-Drafting with AI

Peer-Review Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will share his or her previously submitted Co-Drafting with AI Assignment as a thread to the discussion for peer review. The student will then respond to 2 classmates with a 400-word reply explaining how the draft could be strengthened. These responses should explicitly address both AI use and collaborative techniques, such as how AI can support or complicate the drafting process, how ideas can be negotiated or refined among peers, and how organization, transitions, claims, or ethical considerations can be improved.

Discussion: Final Reflections

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will write a 300–400-word reflection on their experiences using AI throughout the course from a Christian perspective, addressing its impact on writing, collaboration, ethical considerations, and future applications, and to thoughtfully respond to at least 2 classmates’ posts with a 200-word reply.

Reflection on Human–AI Collaboration Assignment

The student will write a 750-word reflective essay applying the Flower & Hayes’ writing model to his/her own experiences, examining how AI can support or challenge each stage of writing while considering ethical, creative, and faith-informed engagement.

Individual AI Prompting Exercise Assignment

The student will write a 500-word summary about experimenting with AI across multiple platforms using the 5-Step Prompt Framework, that includes an analysis of how variations in context, audience, language, tone, and format influence AI-generated responses, and reflects on how prompt design shapes research, creativity, and ethical considerations. The student will submit the 3 prompts they used in the AI tool in addition to the summary.

Outline and AI Comparison Assignment

The student will create an outline on the topic he/she selected in the Individual AI Prompting Exercise Assignment, focusing on main ideas and logical organization. Then, the student will use AI tools to generate 3 different outlines. The student will write a 500-word reflection discussing AI’s influence on his/her planning and insights about AI-supported organization in current MLA format.

AI Hallucination Audit Assignment

The student will generate a literature review using AI, audit it for accuracy and reliability based on prompt design, annotate errors or “hallucinated” sources, and submit both the annotated review and a 400-word reflection analyzing AI’s influence and his/her role as a critical collaborator.

Co-Drafting with AI Assignment

In this assignment, the student will transform his/her previously completed Outline and AI Comparison Assignment into a cohesive, well-developed 800–1000-word essay that demonstrates his/her ability to analyze ideas, integrate AI-generated content responsibly, and articulate a clear argument in his or her own voice.

AI-Assisted Revision and Editing Assignment

In this assignment, the student will strengthen his/her Co-Drafting with AI Assignment using AI for global and sentence-level revisions and re-submit to Canvas.

Revision Reflection Assignment

The student will write a 500-word reflection analyzing his/her use of AI in both global and local revisions, discussing which suggestions were adopted, modified, or rejected, and reflecting on how AI influenced clarity, organization, style, and the preservation of his/her own voice while producing a polished, professional draft.
