WMUS 638 Ableton Live Contemporary Worship

This course will give students a thorough understanding of applications for Ableton Live in a contemporary worship context. Topics include mastering the use of pre‐recorded content (“stems” or “tracks”) while preserving flexibility, real‐time content generation for accompaniment, advanced church audio/video/lighting automation using Ableton as a central control interface, and computer hardware/software configurations for reliability and adaptability.

Worship practitioners, now more than ever, are expected to do more with less. Technology is often a solution for many of these problems, and Ableton Live is at the heart of many technological solutions in the contemporary worship setting. Being fluent and comfortable in this environment is considered a modern job required for worship leaders.
