SOWK 664 Advanced Field Enrollment I

Advanced Field Enrollment I provides students with guidance in their efforts to secure a placement for their advanced field experience. Initial proposal documents are submitted. And upon successful completion of the course, students register for Advanced Field Enrollment II (SOWK 665) in which the placement is finalized. Advanced Field Enrollment I and Advanced Field Enrollment II must be completed during the same semester, the semester immediately before a student intends to complete their advanced field experience & seminar course.

This assignment ensures that the student is aware of eligibility requirements for the Gate course and permits the SOWK department to review the student’s eligibility and offer feedback. Students must meet all eligibility requirements in order to receive preliminary Gate approval at the conclusion of the course.

Disclosure Statement Form Assignment

The student will fill out and sign the Disclosure Statement Form Template to acknowledge and verify any charges, convictions, citations, etc. on his/her results documents. This form also grants permission to the field education staff of the BSSW program to release information from the Disclosure Statement Form Template for the purpose of arranging field placements.

The student will order a Background Check and Fingerprint Search through Castle Branch. The student will order his/her checks directly through Castle Branch. This will be checked through four assignments:

Prior to beginning the process of securing a field placement, the student will complete a Self-Assessment. The student will explore his/her fit for the profession, compliance with professional values and ethics, and general readiness to enter the field placement. There are no right or wrong answers to the questions being asked, but the student should carefully and honestly consider responses to each question and fully reflect on what that means for him/her while moving forward in the program.

The student will consider the following when completing this assignment:

The student will fill out the chart in the Field Education Self-Assessment Template.

The student will utilize provided information to complete a resume revision in preparation for an internship or employment.

Time Management Exercise Assignment

The student will begin to plan for next semester in preparation for the commitment of field placement.

The student will not submit anything for this assignment. The student’s assigned field advisor will indicate whether the initial proposal has been approved.

The student will not submit anything for this assignment. The student must successfully complete all assignments in this course and receive preliminary field approval on a field placement proposal to be eligible for Program Support Approval.

The student will complete various quizzes throughout the course based on the Learn material from the assigned Module. Quizzes will contain 1-20 questions. Quizzes may contain multiple choice, true/false, short answer, essay, and/or file upload questions. Quizzes have no time limit and allow unlimited attempts, with either the highest or latest attempts counting towards the grade (depending on the quiz).

These quizzes will cover the Learn material for the assigned module. These quizzes will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 short answer question, and will have no time limit. Quizzes will allow unlimited attempts.
