Course Description
Generalist Field Enrollment I provides students with guidance in their efforts to secure a placement for their Generalist Field Experience. Initial documents are completed. Upon successful completion of the course, students are manually registered by the Department and enrolled in Generalist Field Experience II in which the placement is finalized.

Rationale
Successfully passing this course indicates a student’s approval from the Department of Social Work to complete his or her Generalist Field Experience.

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
The student will complete this assignment to ensure that eligibility requirements for the course are met.
Disclosure Statement Form Assignment
The student will complete this assignment to acknowledge and verify and charges, convictions, citations, etc. on results documents.
Students will order a Background Check and Fingerprint Search through the bookstore. This will be checked through a series of quizzes:

The student will assess personal readiness and current life activities and responsibilities in preparation for field placement. The student will review the article and reflect on each component of the SHAPE model and respond to the questions provided in a Word document. For each of the 5 components, the student must state in 1-2 sentences why he/she ranked it accordingly, then identify 1-2 areas in which he/she needs to grow, including a personal course of action to improve in these areas to facilitate field preparedness.
The student will utilize provided information to complete a resume revision in preparation for an internship or employment.
Time Management Exercise Assignment
The student will begin to plan for next semester in preparation for the commitment of field placement.
The student will not submit anything for this assignment. The student’s assigned field advisor will indicate whether the initial proposal has been approved.
The student will not submit anything for this assignment. The student must successfully complete all assignments in this course and receive preliminary field approval on a field placement proposal to be eligible for Program Support Approval.
These quizzes will cover the Learn material for the assigned module. These quizzes will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1 short answer question, and will have no time limit.
The student will complete various quizzes throughout the course based on the Learn material from that Module.
