Rationale
Applying research methods interdisciplinarily is more than just applying disciplinary methods in multiple steps. This course will explore how to synthesize methods into a singular, coherent and sequential research process as the foundation for interdisciplinary research.

Discussions (6)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be at least 400 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge, and include at least 1 scholarly source. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to the threads of at least 2 classmates. Each reply must be at least 250 words and include at least 1 scholarly soruce. Discussions will focus on students discussing and creating hypothetical research projects utilizing interdisciplinary research methods to ask questions of disparate academic disciplines (CLO: A, B, C).
Article Analysis Assignments (4)
Students will analyze the interdisciplinary research articles of four given works provided by the professor throughout the course. Each Article Analysis should be 750-800 words. (MLO: A, B, C).
Research Project Assignments (3)
Students will work on a multi-part research project utilizing the materials covered within the course (MLO: A, B, C).
Topic and Outline Assignment
The student will select a topic for the final research paper and develop a general research paper outline.
Annotated Bibliography Assignment
The student will create an annotated bibliography that will serve as the research foundation for the final paper by researching at least 6 relevant sources for each of their selected disciplines.
Final Paper Assignment
The student will take their topic and fully develop it into a comprehensive research project. The paper must be 2000-2500 words.
Worldview Integration Assignment
Student will complete a 700-word, multi-staged analysis of how their worldview affects their understanding of research and the areas of study they are exploring (MLO: D).
