The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to current research in behavioral health leadership and to critically examine research in the field by discussing current trends as well as research strengths and limitations. This course will also encourage the student to examine current topics in behavioral health leadership from a biblical worldview.

Discussions (8)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided topic for each discussion. Discussion threads that answer the question(s) presented must be at least 500 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 250 words. The student must utilize at least 3 scholarly citations for each thread and at least 1 scholarly citation for each reply. Use of the Bible and integration of biblical principles should be utilized when appropriate. For 3 of the discussions, the student will select a contemporary topic in behavioral health leadership that has not been discussed within the course. The student will then select 3 journal articles to review and utilize in their responses. (CLOs: A, B, C, D)

Research Presentation Assignments (4)

Research Presentation: Parts 1-3 – Annotated Bibliography Assignments (3)

In preparation of the Research Presentation: Part 4 – Narrated PowerPoint Assignment, the student will prepare 3 annotated bibliographies of articles that will be used in their presentation. Each annotated bibliography submission will include a title page and a minimum of 7 articles (for a total of 21 articles on their topic). Each assignment should be at least 7 pages (1 page per annotation, not including the title page). The first annotated bibliography submission, Research Presentation: Part 1 – Topic and Annotated Bibliography Assignment, will also include a 1-sentence description of the topic chosen. This assignment is expected to be in annotated bibliography format and should include 7 journal articles per submission. Please see the instructions for the Annotated Bibliographies in the classroom. Research Presentation: Part 4 – Narrated PowerPoint Assignment

For this presentation, the student will prepare a 35-45 minute narrated PowerPoint presentation on their research topic. In the PowerPoint presentation, the student will present the purpose of their presentation and topic, describe the area of research they have researched, evaluate the current state of the research (including areas that need more research), describe a biblical discussion of the topic, introduce a proposed study to further the research area, and a summary and conclusion to their presentation. The presentation will include sources cited and referenced in current APA style. The student will also narrate the presentation. Narrated PowerPoint Preparation Assignment

In preparation for the Research Presentation: Part 4 – Narrated PowerPoint Assignment, the student will complete the Narrated PowerPoint Preparation Template, which is designed to help cover all the required details for the Research Presentation: Part 4 – Narrated PowerPoint Assignment. The student will fill out the template, utilizing information from their previously completed annotated bibliographies, and will upload the completed template to Canvas. (CLO: A, B, C, D)
