Rationale
Formal models, game theory, and similar approaches assist in answering the types of research questions that characterize research in politics and public policy. This course equips the student to evaluate literature that utilizes formal models and design and implement modeling into his/her own academic work.

Peer-Review Discussions (2)
Peer-Review Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete two (2) peer-review discussions within this course. The thread for the Module: Week will be the most recent Article Review Assignment submitted in a prior Module: Week. The student must then reply to at least 2 classmates’ threads and at least 1 classmate’s reply to the student’s own thread for a total of at least 3 replies. Each reply must be 500 words. For two of the replies, the student must read the underlying article that the post corresponds to and certify in your reply that you have carefully read the underlying article. The third reply must respond to the feedback provided to the student’s own thread. Further, he/she must support his/her assertions in each reply with citations to at least 3 scholarly, academic, or legal sources in current APA format. Acceptable sources include the textbooks, the Bible, other assigned course reading materials, law journal articles, statutes, cases, administrative materials, etc. (CLO: A, B, C, D)
Article Review Assignments (2)
For each article review, the student will choose an excellent theoretic scholarly article published within the last 5 years addressing a topic of game theory covered in the course, carefully read and review the chosen article, and write a 1,500–2,000 word review of the article in current APA format. The student will describe the article by providing the required information and critique and assess the article’s analysis, conclusions, and/or recommendations from the perspective of the Christian worldview. Each article review must cite and utilize at least 3 scholarly, academic, or legal sources (one of which must be the article chosen for review) in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible for a minimum of 5 sourced used. Scholarly, academic, or legal sources provided or cited in the course materials should be preferred to the extent that they are relevant to the assignment. (CLO: A, B. C, D)
Quizzes (4)
Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned module: week. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 5 essay questions, and have a 5 hour time limit. (CLO: A, B. C, D)
