Rationale
The purpose of this course and its included lab is to discover the geologic processes that lead to the formation and classification of minerals and rocks found in the lithosphere. These processes and the historical and contemporary scientific paradigms upon which they are founded will be evaluated via the grid of biblical revelation.

Discussions (3)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. These discussions are designed to help the student evaluate earth science via the grid of biblical revelation. Each thread must be 350-450 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to at least 1 other classmate’s thread. The reply must be 150-175 words and add substantially to the conversation. All posts must adhere to current APA format.
Quiz: Completion Assignments (7)
The student will submit a confirmation statement once the lab exercises have been completed.
Quiz: Lab Safety
This quiz does not require any studying or preparation before taking it. It simply consists of 10 lab safety statements with which the student must agree or disagree. In order to receive full credit on the quiz, the student must agree with all 10 statements. If the student does not agree with all 10 statements on the quiz, he/she will not be allowed to continue in the course.
Lab Quizzes (7)
Each Lab Quiz will cover the material and activities in the Lab covered in the assigned module. Each quiz should be taken with an open Lab and open Lab Kit. The assignment contains multiple-choice, matching, ordering, and multiple-answer questions. Lab Quizzes will have a time limit of 1 hour. Two attempts are allowed on each Lab Quiz, with the exception of Quiz: Lab Commercial Rock Identification, which allows 1 attempt.
Origins Quizzes (5)
The student will complete various questions related to the module presentations, answering multiple-choice, ordering, multiple answers, and matching questions. Presentations should be viewed prior to beginning the assignment, and they may be reviewed while completing this assignment. The content of these presentations is related to origins topics and/or the course textbook readings for the module. Origins quizzes have a one-hour time limit.
Quizzes (8)
Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned module. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 22 multiple-choice, matching, ordering and true/false questions. Quizzes have a 1-hour time limit.
