Rationale
The purpose of the electronic portfolio is to document the student’s progress through the Master of Public Health program and meet CEPH accreditation standards. The aim of the portfolio is not to regrade assignments but to assess completion of major works in core classes. Main areas of the portfolio graded for the first time include Applied Practical Experiences and Interprofessional Experiences.
Course Assignment
No details available.
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
The student will submit his/her resume for review and approval for the portfolio. The student must schedule an individual appointment with a career coach for a detailed review of his/her resume. After revising the resume based on feedback from the review, the student will submit the final copy of the resume along with the confirmation email of the appointment. (CLO: C)
In either a bulleted list or a single descriptive paragraph, the student will describe all work and engagement with populations and community. This must be at a unit level that exceeds the individual and has addressed public health problems in a way that clearly documents a practical application of foundational competencies. The practical experience described in this assignment must be relevant, meaning it must have occurred within the last five years. The assignment should be formatted according to current AMA style guide standards. This assignment will be part of the student’s submission of his/her required portfolio. (CLO: D, E, F, G)
The student will describe all work and engagement he/she has participated in that has addressed public health problems in an interprofessional manner. It must include the application of addressing a population health need or problem as well as the inclusion of working with an interprofessional team through a work experience. The student may submit either the Inter-professional Experience Project Reflection Paper (written in HLTH 509) or one descriptive paragraph about a project, event, workshop, etc., in which the student worked to achieve a common goal with professionals in different career fields. The paper will be formatted according to current AMA style guide standards. This assignment will be part of the student’s submission of his/her required portfolio. (CLO: D, E, F, G)
The student will successfully submit his/her final portfolio into the Graduate Public Health Portal and then submit documentation of the portfolio submission into the Canvas classroom using a screenshot. The Graduate Public Health Portal submission will include a cover letter, table of contents, all core assignments, resume, the APE and IPE paragraphs, and background check receipt. This quiz contains one file upload question, has no time limit, and allows for unlimited attempts, with the student’s highest attempt counting towards the grade. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F, G)
The student will review resources and complete a quiz. Each quiz will cover the Learn material from the assigned Module: Week. The quizzes will be open-book/open-notes, contain multiple-choice, true/false, multiple-answer, and essay questions, and will have no time limit. These quizzes allow for unlimited attempts, with the student’s highest attempt counting towards the grade. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F. G)
