Rationale
The over-arching principle is that public policy leaders must become continuous learners and early adopters of existing and emerging technologies so they can then maximize state-of-the-art information to provide, if not improve, any public service.
Course Assignment
Additional articles, videos, etc. will be assigned each week, based on the latest knowledge, challenges, and best practices in IM and IT.
Guest lecturers (via interactive and/or recorded video) will augment and enhance our learning.
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion.
Each thread must be 750-800 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge, including 8-10 resources. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 3 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 200-250 words.
The student will write an 8-10 page research-based paper in current APA format that focuses on the specified topic for that week. The paper must include citations from at least 15 scholarly sources in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.
The Practical Applications Assignments are the culminating project of the course where you will apply course concepts to an analysis of a real public administration organization including an interview of a key leader within that organization.
You will submit a topic proposal for professor review (Quiz: Practical Applications: Topic Submission) and upon approval will write 12– 14 pages of content. The paper must include citations from at least 20 scholarly sources, inclusive of course resources and the Bible.
Quiz: Practical Applications: Topic Submission
For this quiz, you will submit a topic for your Practical Applications Paper: Statesmanship Assignment for review. The instructor will use the submission to provide feedback on the topic and recommendations if needed to improve it.
