Students will be challenged to investigate key issues and best practices related to urban planning and challenges of local government administration. This course will provide a synthesis of these topics with a Biblical perspective on ethics and statesmanship.

This course connects studies in urban planning theory with practical realities of state and local government planning and zoning administrative practice and provides the student with valuable information and opportunities to apply knowledge of the studies in land use, community development, urban planning and zoning implementation to contemporary issues facing state and local government practitioners.
Course Requirements Checklist

Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided promptly for each discussion. Each thread must be 750 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge and include at least 4 citations from peer reviewed sources in current APA format. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 250 words that relate to the thread posting and include at least 2 citations from peer reviewed sources, in current APA format, not including the Bible.
For the Case Study Assignments, the student will write a 8 – 10 page research-based paper in current APA format and include 8 – 10 scholarly references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.
For Final Case Study: Challenges Facing Urban Planners assignment, the student will write a 10 – 12 page paper and include 10 – 12 scholarly references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.
