Drawing from their course work and other independent research, the student will use AI to develop a 1-page map depicting the main differences between a Christ-centered biblical counseling theory and a secular clinical counseling theory. The student will submit the map along with a 10 – 12-minute video explaining the map, why the theory is most compelling to them, and how they would use it to help someone grow and/or overcome a life challenge. The student will study 1 character from the film and suggest a possible diagnosis (what’s wrong with the character) and a treatment plan with 5 – 7 actionable steps to help the character heal and/or grow. The student will do this by answering several prompts (provided) with attention given to using an integrated psycho-clinical and biblical-spiritual perspective. The student will prepare and submit a 12 – 14 slide PowerPoint, not including the title slide and reference slide, outlining their treatment plan based upon their responses to the prompts. The student will develop their own questions to explain how the interviewee (pastor, chaplain, or clinician) has helped the military person or family member from a clinical and/or biblical/pastoral perspective by answering 7 prompts. The goal of this assignment is for the student to interact with the pastor, military chaplain, or professional counselor/clinician to better understand how they saw the person in their time of distress and what steps they specifically suggested to help this person grow and/or heal from a life experience involving pain, loss, suffering, and/or trauma. The student will write and submit a 3 – 5-page response paper in current APA format outlining their experience in the interview and summarizing their responses to each of the prompts provided by the Professor.
