Discussion: Class Introductions
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete a class introduction and reply to two classmates. Replies must be a minimum of 150 words.
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will complete 3 Discussions, integrating concepts learned from course readings. The student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge, incorporating biblical concepts and references. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 200 words. (CLO: A, B, D)
The student will write an essay that focuses on journalistic story ideas. The essay must address the appropriate audience, sources, and timeliness. This assignment will be 300 words or more (at least 150 words per story idea). (CLO: B, C)
The student will write an essay that focuses on visual reporting. The essay must address a story idea and visual storytelling supplemental materials. This assignment must be at least 200 words in length. (CLO: B, C)
The student will write a sample 2:00 TV package script based on a print news story in current live broadcasting script format. (CLO: A, B, C, E)
The student will write a print news story in current AP style that is 250–300 words based on a current news event that received traction across several social media posts. (CLO: A, B, C, E)
The student will develop an original multimedia story that includes written and visual elements written in current AP style that is 250–300 words and include at least 2 quotations from interviews and social media posts (at least one quotation must be from an interview conducted by the student for the story). (CLO: A, B, C, D, E)
