This zero-credit course must be completed prior to the HSER 499 internship course. HSER 465 will provide structure and support for students to submit their internship proposals and prepare for HSER 499.

This course will provide a structure for the student to submit their internship proposals for HSER 499. This course facilitates communication between the student, the HSER team and the prospective agency. It ensures that the student has adequate support locating an internship and establishing that the internship will meet requirements.

The student will complete this assignment to ensure that eligibility requirements for the course are met.

The student will utilize provided information to complete a resume revision in preparation for an internship or employment.

The student will assess personal readiness and current life activities and responsibilities in preparation for internship. The student will review the article and reflect on each component of the SHAPE model and respond to the questions provided in a Word document. For each of the 5 components, the student must state in 1-2 sentences why he/she ranked it accordingly, then identify 1-2 areas in which he/she needs to grow, including a personal course of action to improve in these areas to facilitate internship preparedness.

The student will begin to plan for next semester in preparation for the commitment of internship.

The student will not submit anything for this assignment. The student’s assigned advisor will indicate whether the proposal has been approved, after the entire proposal (Steps #1-4) has been submitted correctly and completely.

These quizzes will verify that the student has completed each of the four STEPS in the internship proposal process. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 1-3 multiple-answer and short-answer questions, and will have no time limit.

The student will complete quizzes throughout the course that cover information from each assigned Learn section. Each quiz will contains 1-8 multiple-choice, multiple-answer, matching, true/false, short-answer, essay, file-upload questions. There will be no time limit for these quizzes.
