Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be at least 400 words, include at least 2 scholarly citations in APA format, and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 200 words and include at least one scholarly citation in APA format. (CLO: A, B, E, F)

The student will write a paper reflecting on leadership from a biblical worldview after reading the assigned textbook chapters. The purpose of the reflection assignments is to encourage the student to not only read the material, but to digest it, meditate on it, critique it, and think about how it changes his/her thinking and/or his/her practice from a biblical worldview. Each reflection must be 800-1000 words in APA format.

The student will create/write a mock conflict scenario dialogue. This scenario must contain two imaginary parties who are at odds about a specific workplace event or policy. Then, a third party (manager/leader) must listen to and work to mitigate this conflict. The final product will be a written document that contains a dialogue between the 3 imaginary parties. From start to end, the document must contain the elements of Conflict, Questions, Mitigation, Resolution. This project will require extensive knowledge of the concepts of mitigation, the elements of conflict and a realistic perception of how people will respond to certain prompts, questions or discussions. The assignment must be 1000-1500 words and written in APA format.

The purpose of this assignment is to allow the student an opportunity to critically think about, plan and implement all of the elements required for an effective meeting. There will be two parts to this paper. The first portion will be a narrative that will outline and reflect on how to run an effective meeting in the student’s own setting, using evidence and resources to support his/her answer. The second part of this project is highly practical and entails forming a mock agenda for the student’s professional setting. The example the student creates will receive critical feedback for improvement and can be implemented in his/her current or future workplace immediately, along with the skills learned from the materials in the module. The Meeting Agenda Assignment must be 800-1000 words in APA format.

The purpose of the final topical research paper is for the student to learn to heavily research a topic that was discussed this semester using peer-reviewed sources. The research will help elucidate the complex nature of the topic of leadership and allow the student to be exposed to and critique multiple opinions from a variety of authors outside of the assigned class material. This will build practical leadership skills which include reading, critical thinking, writing, communicating, and applying with wisdom. The paper must be 1500-3000 words, include a minimum of 10 scholarly/peer-reviewed references within the paper, and be written in APA format.

A total of two quizzes will be given over the course of the semester based on the lectures and assigned readings. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 5 essay questions, and have a 2 hour time limit. Only 1 attempt will be allowed per quiz. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F)
