Rationale
The student will be exposed to the inter-relatedness of global health issues, as well as the complexities of their challenges. This course will be helpful for those wishing to serve in the global health context, as well as those interested in increasing their awareness of global health challenges. This course provides a foundation for further global health studies.

Discussions (3)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. The student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 classmates’ threads. Threads must be at least 400 words each and cite at least one scholarly source published in the last five years in AMA format. Replies must be at least 150 words each. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F)
Case Study Review Assignment
The student will review the major points of a case study and write a review of it providing suggestions to address the problem in it. The Case Study Review Assignment must be 450-600 words and include a citation of at least 1 peer-reviewed article in addition to the citation of the assigned case study. All citations must be in current AMA formatting. (CLO: B, C, E, F)
Case Study Review PowerPoint Presentation Assignment
The student will review the major points of a case study and create a PowerPoint presentation providing suggestions to address the problem in the case study. This assignment must be 15-20 power point slides in current AMA format and contain 25-30 minutes of voice narration. The presentation must cite at least 1 peer-reviewed article source in addition to the assigned article or case study in current AMA format. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F)
Short Essay Assignments (2)
The student is required to respond to a topic provided by the course instructor. The short essay must be 200-250 words and cite at least 1 peer-reviewed reference, as well as the text, in current AMA format (CLO: B, C, E & F).
Paper Project Assignments (4)
Paper Project: Rough Draft: Topic Submission Assignment
The student will write a one-sentence topic statement concerning his or her Research Paper. The student must provide 1 reference to validate the statement. The topic selection will be submitted to the instructor for approval. The selected reference must be cited in current AMA format. (CLO: B, F)
Paper Project: Rough Draft: Outline Assignment
The student will create a detailed outline for the final version of the Research Paper. The outline must be 1-2 pages, arranged in alphanumeric format, and include the parts specified in Canvas. (CLO: B, F)
Paper Project: Rough Draft: References Assignment
The student will research at least 10 scholarly resources (maximum 15) that are no more than 5 years old. The student will cite the resources in current AMA format. (CLO: B)
Paper Project: Final Assignment
The student will write a 10–12-page research-based paper on the chosen topic. The reference and title pages are not included in the page count. The paper must cite at least 10 scholarly references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible in current AMA format. (CLO: A, B, C, D, E, F)
Quiz: Midterm
This quiz covers information from the assigned Modules: Weeks. This quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 50 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a time limit of 1 hour and 45 minutes. (CLO: B, C, D, & F)
