Course Description
A broadly applicable, foundational study of resilience applied to the life of nations, with particular focus on the USA. Topics include God's intent for nations, spiritual infrastructure as an element of national power, an in-depth assessment of American spiritual infrastructure, and personal and policy considerations pertaining to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and major spheres of cultural influence.

Rationale
Will America continue as the “greatest nation on earth,” or will our moral erosion and apathy toward God take us the way of other fallen nations before us? On behalf of future generations, “We the People” and “We the Statesmen” of America must stand up to be counted at this time in our nation’s history. Resilient Nations equips students of government and other disciplines to fully integrate Christian worldview in the assessment and renewal of the spiritual infrastructure of the United States.
Course Assignment
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt. Each thread must be at least 300 words with scholarly citations in APA format. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 200 words.
You will prepare a 3–4-page essay (not including title page or references) on topics to be assigned. Each essay must include 3–4 resources in addition to course text, videos, and Bible, and must conform to current APA standards.
You will prepare a research paper over the course of three scaffolded assignments.
The Research Paper: Thesis and Outline Assignment begins the process of formulating the final research paper. The student will choose a sub-element based off the research paper assignment, provide a working thesis for this topic and submit an outline which provides a solid structure for your paper.
The Research Paper: Annotated Bibliography Assignment continues the process of building your final research paper. The student will complete an annotated bibliography designed to assist them in selecting sources for study and applying the main ideas of the sources to the intended paper topic.
The Research Paper: Final Assignment focuses on a sub-element of General Dees’ Spiritual Infrastructure concept. It is the culmination of what the student has learned in this course, highlighting the role of SI in our culture and ways in which our nation can be strengthened by these concepts.
