Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided topic for each Discussion. Each thread is to be 250–300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. The student must include at least 1 footnote from a scriptural source and 1 footnote from a scholarly source. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 1 other classmate’s thread. Each reply must be 100–150 words. (CLO: A, B, C)
The student will describe the student’s own testimony and the testimony of a person from the internship setting. Each testimony will be at least 300 words and will describe life before conversion, the circumstances of conversion, and how another person in that cultural context could make a commitment to become a Christian. The testimony should integrate Scripture and knowledge of the culture of the internship setting. At least 1 scholarly citation and 1 biblical citation in current Turabian format should be included. The assignment must meet all other writing and structure expectations. (CLO: C)
The student will submit three 750–1,000-word papers (excluding the title page, abstract, and reference section) summarizing the primary lessons learned in the internship experience. The student must incorporate information from Scripture, the Discussions, reading materials, experiences in the field, and interactions with the mentor with at least 8 footnoted applications (4 sources of Scripture and 4 scholarly sources, particularly materials used in previous GICE courses) in current Turabian format. Each paper must include a table of contents, a title page, an abstract, headings, an introduction, a conclusion, and a reference section. The assignment must meet all other writing and structure expectations. (CLO: A, B, C)
The student will take notes on the meetings with his/her mentor. This will include the dates met (at least 6), feedback received, topics discussed, and any conflicts that may have arisen. This assignment must be at least 300 words and use current Turabian format. The assignment must meet all other writing and structure expectations. (CLO: A)
The student will meet with his/her mentor at least 6 times during the internship period. The student will discuss with the mentor experiences that occurred due to differences in language, attitudes, education, personalities, and communication or relationship styles. The student will send the provided Mentor Evaluation Template to the supervisor to complete before the end of the internship course and upload the completed template to Canvas. The completed Mentor Evaluation Template must be discussed with the student prior to submission. (CLO: A)
