Rationale
A Christ-follower who desires to live out his/her faith as a global professional will need to adequately prepare to meet the demands of effective intercultural ministry. This preparation begins with his/her relationship with God and a proper understanding of him/herself, and it continues in his/her relationships with other people including family, churches, organizations, employers, and national partners. Along the way, he/she will need to address the numerous practical questions and concerns related to working and ministering in cross-cultural settings. This course seeks to prepare the student for these settings.

Discussions (3)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each thread must be at least 400 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge by using at least 2 references to the course materials. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 200 words and use at least 1 reference to the course materials. Current Turabian format must be used. (CLO: A, B)
The student will consider and practice seven of the spiritual disciplines found in the Spiritual Disciplines Handbook, one per week for 7 weeks. This assignment will be completed in two parts:
Spiritual Formation Journal: Plan Assignment
The student will complete a 3-page assignment including a title page, plan page, and journal entry. The student will choose which discipline he/she would like to practice from each of the seven parts of the Spiritual Formations Handbook – one discipline from each part. The student will then choose at least 2 of the spiritual exercises suggested for each of the chosen disciplines. The student will then complete the plan assignment, which will be followed throughout the course.
Spiritual Formation Journal: Reflection Assignment
The student will submit a journal for each week of the previously submitted plan in one paper totaling at least 7 pages. (CLO: A)
Both Spiritual Formation Journal Assignments must follow Turabian format.
EP PRO-D Student Advance Assessment Assignment
The student will purchase and complete the EP PRO-D Student Advance Assessment. Upon completion of the assessment, the student will receive a customized feedback report. The student will use this feedback report to answer questions about his/her personality, abilities, and motivations. Using the feedback report and rubric, the student will create an action plan for personal development that leverages his/her strengths. This assignment must be in current Turabian format. (CLO: A, C)
Relationships Essay Assignment
The student will write a 2–3-page paper in current Turabian format that focuses on some of the relationship opportunities and challenges for the global worker. The student will also present his/her strategies for managing conflict. The student should include references from course materials and Scripture. (CLO: B, C)
Next Steps Essay Assignment
The student will write a 2-page strategy for completing his/her next steps in global engagement. The assignment must conform to current Turabian formatting and should draw upon course materials. (CLO: A, B, C)
Quizzes (4)
Each quiz will cover the Reading & Study material for the Modules: Weeks for which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions, allow 1 attempt, and have a 40-minute time limit. (CLO: A, B, C)
